Why he choose medicine as a career: Prior to becoming an orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Helmold was a civil engineer. He became an orthopedic surgeon because it allowed him to combine his interests in medicine, engineering and in helping people.

“What I really enjoy about orthopedics is making a positive impact on people’s lives,” Dr. Helmold says.

Background: Dr. Helmold served as president of Bucks County Medical Society, and as a delegate to the Pennsylvania Medical Society. He enjoys spending time with his family, working on automobiles and time outdoors.
