State police at the Fogelsville barracks reported Ahmed A. Shide, 43, of Shakopee, Minnesota, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 11:05 p.m. May 12 on Route 309 in Lynn Township.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Cetronia Ambulance Corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township.

Police said he was driving a 2020 Kenworth truck when he swerved to avoid striking a deer that had entered his path.

The truck traveled off the right side of the road and struck a metal guide rail. It sustained disabling damage, police said.

They said Shide was cited following the crash. He also provided police an expired insurance card.
