Pleasant Vy. police chief decides to retire

The police chief for the Pleasant Valley School District has decided to retire.

The school board acknowledged at their meeting on May 8 that Chief Robert Miller Jr. will be retiring. His retirement will be effective June 30.

“Chief Miller, the guy was with us for 10 years. I think he did a heck of a job. I really think our staff as well as our students felt safe while he was here. I think it’s a shame that we’re losing him,” said school board director John Gesiskie. “I just want to let him know that we will definitely miss him and we really appreciate everything you did for us.”

Gesiskie wished him and his family well.

Also retiring are Donna Cimino, a teacher at Pleasant Valley Intermediate School, and Lisa Dixon, a paraprofessional at the middle school. Both of their retirements will be effective at the end of the current school year.
