Over 60 club

The Palmerton Over 60 Club will meet at noon May 20 at Palmerton Borough Hall, 443 Delaware Ave.

Meal tonight

St. John’s UCC, 891 Columbia Ave., Palmerton, will hold a free community meal from 4:30-6 p.m. today.

Meal consists of linguine/ham with Alfredo sauce. No takeouts before 5:30 p.m.

Faith Alive Church

Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown), holds two services each Sunday with Pastor Rob Timlin. A contemporary service is held at 8:30 a.m., followed by Sunday school for all ages at 9:45 a.m. A traditional service is held at 11 a.m.

With All Your Heart: A series filmed at Biblically significant sites is taking place through June 1 in Leah’s Room.

Forward: A new series has started to discuss “Discovering God’s presence and purpose in your tomorrow.” The class is led by Sam Heiney and takes place in Room 113.

Church work day: 8 a.m.-noon May 17. Sign up in the lobby.

Discovery 101: For anyone interested in learning more about Faith Alive Church, a class will be held. This is a requirement for church membership.

VBS: Vacation Bible School will be held June 16-20. Helpers are needed. A free meal will be held at 5 p.m. with VBS activities beginning at 6 p.m. For more information, see Sue Moyer.

Bowman Park Camp: June 28 will be a cleanup day. Help is needed. At 7 p.m. on July 7, there will be a God and Country Service. Camp meeting service is held with Pastor Brenda Smith at 7 p.m. on July 18-20; and with Pastor Al Smith on July 25-27. Grace Notes Concert 7 p.m. on Aug. 3. Youth Camp is July 12-28; Junior Camp, July 27-Aug. 2; and Children’s Camp, Aug. 6-9.

Upcoming outdoor services: July 13, Aug. 10 and Sept. 14. Worship is held at the church pavilion.

The Palmerton Area School District announces that schools will be closed on May 23 and 26 in observance of Memorial Day.
