State police at Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:
• Police were called to a theft by deception incident at 9:28 p.m. on April 12 on Interchange Road, Towamensing Township.
They said a man reported a scam on Facebook.
• A 28-year-old Lansford man was cited for harassment by physical contact after police were called to Shad Blue Lane, Penn Forest Township, at 6:50 p.m. on April 21.
The victim is a 55-year-old man from Jim Thorpe.
• Jorge Mejia, 36, of Jim Thorpe, is facing drug possession charges and charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 12:05 p.m. on April 19.
He was stopped in a 2011 Ford Escape for Title 75 violations in the 2300 block of Interchange Road, Franklin Township, after which he showed signs of impairment.
• Jose Galan Jr., 51, of Parryville, was cited for harassment by physical contact after police responded to an inactive domestic disturbance at 9:22 p.m. on May 1 on Main Street in Parryville.
A 35-year-old woman from Parryville told police Galan shoved her while they engaged in a verbal argument. She was uninjured, police said.
• Police said they were called to an accidental death report on the 500 block of White Street, Bowmanstown.
They identified the deceased as Jason John Hernandez.
Police said the incident occurred between noon and 2:37 p.m. on May 2, and that there are no public safety concerns.
They said they investigated a possession of drug paraphernalia incident at the same location at 3 p.m. but no charges were filed as the possessor was deceased.
• A 42-year-old Lehighton man was cited for harassment by physical contact after police were called to an incident at 8:54 a.m. on May 1 on East Lizard Creek Road, East Penn Township.
Police said the man and a 44-year-old woman from Lehighton engaged in a fight over cellphones.
• Police were called to a Protection From Abuse court order violation at 2:42 p.m. on April 24.
It occurred on Behrens Road, Penn Forest Township. The victim is a 51-year-old woman from Jim Thorpe.
• Police said they were called to a “leash law” violation at 8:24 p.m. on April 24 at 1882 Dinkey Road, East Penn Township.
They said a man and woman, both from Lehighton, reported their neighbor’s dog killed one of their chickens.
• A 40-year-old Kunkletown man is facing resisting arrest charges after he resisted officers attempting to serve a warrant on him at 8:26 a.m. on April 18.
It occurred on Dogwood Lane, Polk Township, after which time the man was taken into custody and transported to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township, for further evaluation.
• A 57-year-old Kunkletown man was cited for harassment after police responded to an incident at 5:45 p.m. on May 1 on Serfass Road, Polk Township.
A 23-year-old woman from Kunkletown told police her landlord kicked her door in an attempt to get inside her residence.
• A business on Fireline Road, Lower Towamensing Township, was cited for false alarms/dialing devices after police were called there at 5:12 p.m. on April 26.
Police said it was the fifth time within 12 months they were called there for a false alarm.
• Kenneth Reddick, 41, of Effort, was charged with criminal mischief after police were called to a property at Route 115 and the Kunkletown Road, Ross Township, at 6:38 a.m. on April 8.
A Kunkletown woman reported damage to her door.
