May 12, 2011 — Palmerton’s Kelsey Hay wins two events at the Colonial League Track & Field Championships at Bangor to nearly lead the Blue Bomber girls team to a title. Saucon Valley finishes with a score of 99 5/6, compared to Palmerton’s 99 1/2. Hay captures the shot put with a toss of 37-6, and also takes the javelin with a throw of 126-7. The Bombers also receive two runner-up finishes from Kristen Romano in the hurdles. Northwestern’s Haley Yost claims the 1600 in 5:18.82, while the Tigers’ Tyler Stelmack finishes first in the same event in the boys competition in 4:38.10. Palmerton’s Brad Ehret also earns gold by clearing 6-0 in the high jump.
