A Jim Thorpe author recently released her second novel.

Sarah Robsdottir, a homeschooling mother of seven sons, released the book, Joan of Arkansas, her second novel in three years.

It’s a story of an at-risk teen who battles adversity with the help of her patron saint.

Robsdottir’s first book Brave Water (a ‘stand-alone’ novel about human trafficking) was released in 2022, and received several Catholic Media Association Awards.

Like Brave Water, Robsdottir said Joan of Arkansas is ‘a book with a mission.’

“I’m passionate about writing stories that captivate and capture the imagination for Christ while still dealing with the most pressing social justice issues of our day,” Robsdottir explained. “For this reason, Joan of Arkansas delves into the opioid crisis, mental illness and teen pregnancy in a way that informs and educates, but does not scandalize or traumatize.

“I want my readers to remain innocent — not ignorant.”

Joan of Arkansas’ back book cover certainly promises a page-turner:
