Lehighton Spring Carnival kicks off its 3-day run
A traveling amusement show has made its way back to Lehighton in an effort to give back to the community.
The Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club’s Spring Carnival began its three-day run Thursday at The Grove.
Tayler Koreisl of Lehighton said she’s glad she brought her children, Xavier Babarsky, 6, and Deacon Babarsky, 4, of Lehighton to the event.
“I think it’s great for all the kids in town,” Koreisl said. “I think a lot more kids would come if the weather weren’t so bad.”
Ericka Biggs of Lehighton said she and her family, Keylel Biggs and Egypt Williams, enjoyed the festivities.
“The staff is so nice,” Ericka said. “The rides are very kid-appropriate.”
Ericka’s son, Keylel Biggs, 13, of Lehighton, was in total agreement.
“I like it here,” Keylel said. “The food is good.”
Justine Strohl, vice president of the Lehighton Area Lioness Lions Club, said there were nearly two dozen vendors set up at the carnival.
“There’s lots of good homemade food,” Strohl said. “We’re doing this to bring something back to Lehighton to bring something to do.”
The event continues from 5 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday.
Today is Kids Day, where ride bracelets can be purchased for $15. Children can also enter the bicycle raffle at 7:15 p.m. Friday at the basket raffle tent.
Live music will include Good Friday today, and DJ Steven Anthony & Bees Knees on Saturday.
In addition to the food, rides, and live bands, there’s also basket raffles, games, and face-painting.
