Etheridge running for Mahoning supervisor
Carol Etheridge, a 12-year resident of Mahoning Township and retired computer industry professional, has announced her candidacy on the Democratic ticket for Mahoning Township supervisor.
Etheridge, who lives with her husband in a quiet neighborhood near the Carbon Mall and Lehigh Valley Health Network facilities, said she was inspired to run after regularly attending township supervisors’ meetings and engaging with residents across the community.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to live in this area of immense natural beauty and proud to be a candidate for Mahoning Township supervisor,” Etheridge said. “We are a community of hardworking, compassionate residents who deserve leaders who will listen, take action and protect what makes Mahoning special.”
A strong advocate for farmland preservation and environmental stewardship, Etheridge emphasized the importance of protecting natural resources for future generations.
“Preserving family farms and our environment is vital to benefit our children and grandchildren,” she said.
Etheridge and her husband, a retired U.S. Air Force veteran, chose Mahoning Township as their forever home after his retirement, drawn by its mix of rural charm and access to modern amenities.
With more than three decades of experience in the computer industry, Etheridge now dedicates her time to gardening, community service and local government involvement.
She has volunteered at food banks and assisted with federal grant applications during her time working with the county.
“I’m not afraid of long hours or hard work,” she said. “Residents, businesses, and farmers deserve a supervisor who will take the time to listen to their needs and represent them at every opportunity.”
Etheridge said she is committed to responsible leadership, transparency and community engagement, and expressed appreciation for the support she has received since announcing her candidacy.
