The National Weather Service has confirmed a tornado touched down near Route 191 south of Bangor Tuesday afternoon.

The weather service based its findings on social media videos and photos.

Heavy storms moved through the Times News area Tuesday afternoon. Parts of Northampton and Monroe County were under a tornado watch.
