May 6, 1964 — After blowing a five-run lead, Marian breaks a tie score by tallying in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull out a 7-6 victory over Lourdes. Walt Kruzek delivers a two-run double in the second inning to give the Colts an early start, while Dennis Boyle adds an RBI single during a three-run third that gives his team a 5-0 advantage. After Lourdes rallies and eventually knots the game at 6-6, Marian gets the go-ahead and eventual game-winning run on a bases-loaded walk. Colts reliever Joe Simcik tosses a scoreless seventh to preserve the win. Billy Sakusky and Charlie Lenick both finish with two hits and a run.
