Area players set to take part in inaugural Lehigh Valley Diamond Classic

Several area softball standouts will represent the West team during the 1st Annual Lehigh Valley Diamond Classic on Wednesday, June 11 at Patriots Park in Allentown.

The showcase event will feature the 2025 Carpenter Cup team taking on Colonial/EPC West at 6 p.m., followed by a matchup with Colonial/EPC East at 7:45 p.m.

Local participants on the West roster include Mara Levins (Jim Thorpe), Mikayla Pengelly (Palmerton), Rylee McGinley and Shelby Mitman (Northwestern), Marisa Maehrer, Grace Bauer and Peyton Hoffman (Northern Lehigh), and Makayla Scott (Lehighton). Kaitlyn Getz, Brianca Pridham, Lydia Borger and Jovie Valenzuela will also represent Pleasant Valley.

The event will serve as a lead-up to the Carpenter Cup tournament in Philadelphia later this summer.
