State Police at Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 38-year-old Kunkletown man was targeted in a theft by deception/identity theft incident police were called to on Ash Lane, Polk Township.

They said that between 8 a.m. March 24 and 8 a.m. March 25 he had $3,400 stolen from his bank account.

• Police said the driver of a vehicle they stopped at 4:20 p.m. March 28 on Route 903 in Penn Forest Township is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

They stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation.

• A 52-year-old woman from Forest Inn Road, Lower Towamensing Township, was the victim of a Protection From Abuse Order violation police were called to at 4:39 p.m. March 26.

She told police she received a text message advising her not to get a divorce. She said she believed the message came from her spouse, against whom the court order was obtained.

• Michael Cardone, 38, of Lehighton, was charged with criminal mischief after police were called to an incident at 2:11 p.m. March 27 on White Street in Weissport.

Police said a 36-year-old woman from Weissport alleged Cardone damaged her 2003 Nissan Pathfinder by smashing windows. The estimated damage was $830, police said.

• Karen Kimble, 64, of Saylorsburg, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 10:29 p.m. March 27.

She was stopped in a 2011 Dodge for Title 75 violations in the 200 block of Blue Ridge Road, Ross Township.

• A 70-year-old woman from Palmerton is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 6:50 p.m. March 28.

She was stopped in a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe for numerous traffic violations in the 600 block of Oak Village Mobile Home Park, Lower Towamensing Township.

• Ashley Heckman, 33, of Saylorsburg, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after police made a traffic stop at 9:15 p.m. March 28.

She was stopped in a 2008 Toyota Sienna for a Motor Vehicle Code violation in the 400 block of Route 115 in Ross Township.

• Police were called at 1:24 p.m. March 29 to South Dieters Hill Road, East Penn Township, for an inactive domestic dispute and discovered one of the people involved in the incident damaged a Chevrolet Tahoe.

They said the damage did not exceed $1,000.

• Joyce Blaskow, 71, of Kunkletown, is the victim of a criminal mischief incident police responded to at 11:30 p.m. March 29 at 280 Borger Road, Eldred Township.

She told police someone broke two plastic clips on her screen door.

• A 27-year-old man from Bangor is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police responded to an incident at 11:52 a.m. March 30 at the intersection of Kunkletown and Rolling Hills roads, Ross Township.

Police said they responded to a report of an erratic driver in a 2018 Mazda and found the man to be under the influence.

• Debra Oswald, 50, of Lehighton, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

She was stopped in a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee at 2:45 a.m. March 30 on North Fourth Street in Palmerton.

• Justyn Smith, 41, of East Stroudsburg, is facing burglary, theft and related charges after police were called to a property on Interchange Road, Polk Township, at 8:09 a.m. April 1.

A 58-year-old man and a 55-year-old woman, both from Saylorsburg, were listed by police as victims in the case.

Police said it is alleged Smith stole $80 worth of copper piping from the pair. A 2010 GMC vehicle was towed as a result of the incident, police said.

• Police were called to the Palmerton Area Junior High School at 4 p.m. April 6 to investigate a terroristic threat case.

They said a complaint of threatening Snapchat messages involving firearms was received in a group message with multiple juvenile participants from the school being identified.
