ON THIS DATE MAY 5, 1942

Wilbur Warner, Lehighton postmaster, last night was elected president of the Carbon County Historical Society at a meeting held in the arbitration room of the Carbon County Courthouse in Jim Thorpe.

Warner succeeds Richard S. Ruddle of East Mauch Chunk who was elected to the presidency a year ago when the society was reorganized following a long period of inactivity.

Other officers elected were John Prizer, Mauch Chunk, vice president; Evelyn Gabert, Lehighton, secretary; and C.L. Creitz, Palmerton, treasurer.

Members of the society’s executive committee included Attorney J.C. Loose, Mauch Chunk, A.C. Neumiller, Lansford, Judge James C. McCready, Summit Hill, Attorney Ben Branch, Nesquehoning, and Seth Dodson, Weatherly.
