Virginia Adams, 35, of Conyngham, and Tara D. Whitehead, 43, of Kingston, had possible injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 3:49 p.m. April 17 on Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township, state police at the Frackville barracks said.
Police said they were transported by personnel from the Shenandoah Community Ambulance Association and the Ryan Township Emergency & Rescue Squad to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.
The crash occurred when Adams was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu northbound and failed to see the 2015 Nissan Juke operated by Whitehead that was disabled and partially on the road, police said.
The Malibu hit the Juke, causing disabling damage to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene, police said.
Adams was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic, police said, while Whitehead was cited for operating a vehicle without a valid inspection sticker.
