Well over 200 persons attended the 16th annual banquet of the Regional Union of the Holy Name Societies of Carbon and East Schuylkill Counties held in Marian Catholic High School, Hometown.
The program was opened with the invocation by the Rev. Edward J. Kennedy, spiritual director, while remarks were given by John B. McGinley, regional Holy Name Union president, and Fred W. Manning, president of the Allentown Diocesan Union of the Holy Name Society.
The guest speaker was U.S. Rep. Daniel J. Flood.
Frank Wehr of Summit Hill, Carbon County clerk of courts, sang several vocal selections, accompanied by Michael Matsinko of Nesquehoning.
