State police at Lehighton

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:

• Police said a 20-year-old man from Saylorsburg was targeted in a terroristic threats incident reported at 3:16 p.m. Feb. 9.

The incident occurred on Kunkletown Road, Ross Township.

• Kevin McCarty, 32, of Blakeslee, is facing drug possession charges after an incident at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 27 on Interchange Road, Polk Township.

Police said he was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu when he was stopped for a traffic violation and was found to be in possession of a controlled substance.

• Police responded to a criminal mischief incident at 2:49 p.m. March 1 at the intersection of Bake Oven and Hoffman roads, East Penn Township. A Bethlehem woman told police she left her 2017 Lincoln Continental unattended at the location for about 30 days. When she returned, police said, she found the car had been damaged.

• Police were called to a criminal mischief incident at 2:29 p.m. March 2 on Long Mountain Road, Polk Township.

A 22-year-old Saylorsburg woman told police someone damaged the windows of her 2005 Mercury while it was parked in her driveway.

• Police said a man is facing drug possession charges after an incident at 8:01 p.m. March 16 in Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East, Mahoning Township.

They did not identify the driver or list his address, but said he was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after officers encountered him struggling to park his 2008 Chevrolet.

• Harold Smith, 52, of Scotrun, who police said is a convicted felon, was arrested on charges of illegal possession of a firearm after police made a traffic stop at 9:39 p.m. March 23 in the 1700 block of Route 209, Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was driving a 1997 GMC Sierra that they stopped for a traffic violation. They said at the time of the stop, the driver and passenger were observed switching seats, after which it was determined the operator was driving the Sierra while under the influence of a controlled substance.

While the investigation continued, police learned that Smith is a felon. He was arrested without incident, they said.

• A 14-year-old Palmerton boy is facing harassment charged after police were called to an incident at 3:40 p.m. March 24 on Fireline Road, Lower Towamensing Township.

A 13-year-old Palmerton boy told police the older boy told him he was going to come to his house with a knife.

• A 47-year-old Summit Hill man is facing drug-related charges after police made a traffic stop at 2:18 p.m. March 27.

He was stopped in a 2005 Subaru Forester for a traffic violation on Lehigh Drive, Lower Towamensing Township, after which police found him to be in possession of a THC vape pen and under the influence of a controlled substance.

• A 35-year-old Lansford man is facing drug possession charges after an incident at 5:30 p.m. March 28 on East Patterson Street, Lansford.

He was driving a 2005 Honda Civic at the time.

• Gerald Pereira, 60, of Palmerton, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 2:01 a.m. March 29.

He was stopped in a 2013 Chevrolet for a traffic violation in the 600 block of Lehigh Avenue, Palmerton, and was taken into custody without incident.

Police said he was also found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

• A 34-year-old Allentown woman is facing criminal mischief charges after police responded to an incident at 4:03 p.m. March 29 on Jeans Drive, Penn Forest Township.

Police said a 58-year-old woman from Jim Thorpe who is the mother of the suspect told police her daughter damaged windows at her residence. The damage was estimated at $600.

• A 61-year-old Lehighton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police said he was driving a 1998 Mazda on South First Street, Lehighton, on March 29.

• Police responded to a criminal mischief incident at 11:30 p.m. March 29 on Borger Road, Eldred Township.

A woman from Kunkletown told police someone damaged her screen door.

• James Beers, 27, of Bangor, is facing charges of driving under the influence after police said he was driving erratically at 11:52 a.m. March 30 at the intersection of Kunkletown and Rolling Hills roads, Ross Township.

Police said he was operating a 2018 Mazda at the time.

They said he made numerous statements regarding his mental health and was transported to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Monroe Campus, Stroudsburg.

• Police were called to a burglary at a business on Interchange Road, Polk Township, at 4:37 p.m. April 2.

They said it was determined someone forced open a side door of a deli and removed copper pipes from the water system at the location.

• A Saylorsburg woman told police that someone used her credit card number to purchase items at a Petsmart business in Newton.

The identity theft incident was reported at 10 a.m. April 10.

• A 49-year-old Lehighton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 10:41 a.m. April 18.

He was stopped in a 1995 Dodge Dakota on Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East, Lehighton.

• Police said a man is facing drug possession charges after they served a warrant at 12:55 p.m. April 18 at 309 N. First St., Lehighton.

They said during the service he attempted to conceal a baggie that contained suspected cocaine.

Police did not provide his identity.

• Two 16-year-old boys, one from Palmerton, the other from Tamaqua, were cited for trespass at 10:37 a.m. April 19 at the intersection of Pohopoco Drive and Penn Forest Road North in Towamensing Township.

Police said they trespassed on property of the Bethlehem Water Authority.
