May 3, 2012 — Pleasant Valley’s doubles team of Jon White and Vince Voulo advance to the quarterfinal round of the District 11 Class 3A tennis tournament with victories in both the first and second rounds. The Bears’ duo rolls to a win over East Stroudsburg North’s Brandon Desilva and Luis Gomes in the opening round 6-4, 6-0 before battling Nazareth’s Mario Carranza and Jack Portney in the second. The PV pair, coached by Mark Allison, take the first set 6-2, but drop the second by a 6-4 score before earning a 10-4 tiebreaker win at the West End Racquet Swim and Fitness Club.
