Local Roundup: Results from May 2
Tamaqua and Northern Lehigh both picked up softball wins on Friday, while Pleasant Valley’s girls lacrosse team rolled to a victory.
SOFTBALL
Tri Valley-Tamaqua
Leah Crowley knocked in four runs with a three-run homer and an RBI double to power Tamaqua to an 8-2 non-league victory over Tri-Valley.
Crowley connected in the third inning to turn a slim 1-0 lead into a 4-0 advantage.
Ceanna Gormley had three hits for the Blue Raiders, who extended their winning streak to five games. One of Gormley’s hits was a double, and she scored two runs while knocking in two.
The winners also received a pair of hits from both Megan Linkhorst and Peyton Faust, while Nico Conahan added a double and two runs.
Naomi Knitter earned the win, allowing five hits and two runs in six innings while striking out six.

Tegan Simms and Adriana Danyluk both collected four hits to help Northern Lehigh outscore Jim Thorpe, 16-11, in Colonial League action.
Simms had a triple among her hits and scored three times, while Danyluk had two doubles and scored once.
The Bulldogs, who trailed 11-10 entering the sixth inning but scored six times to pull out the win, also received three hits and two runs from Emily Gad. Peyton Hoffman added a pair of hits and three runs, while Marisa Maehrer and Kylee Snyder each contributed two hits and two runs.
For the Olympians, who held leads of 9-6 and 11-9, Hannah Zacharias finished with three hits and two runs. Gloria Strohl and Ryah Confer both had two hits and scored twice.

Eleven different Pleasant Valley players scored goals as the Bears rolled to an 18-0 non-league win over visiting Scranton Prep.
Rylee Rath had three goals and four assists to pace PV, while Olivia Iandoli collected three goals and added a helper.
Devon Bush, Ashley Palmieri and Morgan Ryals also scored twice.
