Mahoning Valley 4-H

The Mahoning Valley Community 4-H will meet on May 5 at 6 p.m. at the Normal Square pavilion.

Children ages 5-18 are invited to attend.

The 4-H program is a community of encouraging adults and kids who love to roll up their sleeves and learn by doing.

Trinity Happenings

First Saturday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, begins at 4 p.m. Sunday worship with Holy Communion begins at 9:30 a.m. The Trinity Pantry volunteers — present and past — will receive a blessing of thanks and gratitude for its ministry of 55 years of service to the community during this time. Licensed Lay Minister Kathy Long presides. A light brunch will follow the worship service in Luther Hall with opportunity of sharing and reminiscing.

Sunday Church School and confirmation preparatory classes will not be held May 4. Classes resume May 11. The final classes before the summer break: May 18. The Rite of Confirmation: June 8.

Church initiatives:

The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30- 7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pickup. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.

The Trinity Thrift Store hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesdays; and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays. Household goods and clothing donations will be accepted during store hours. There is a five bag limit. Use door 2 to bring clothing inside.

Upcoming event: Mothers and/or daughters are invited to attend a Mother’s Day luncheon May 10, at 11 a.m. No cost to attend. RSVP by May 2 by contacting the church office during office hours.

First Presbyterian

Those who ordered Krispy Kreme doughnuts from First Presbyterian Church, 304 Mahoning St., Lehighton, can pick up orders on May 4.
