Track Roundup: Results from April 15
The Palmerton, Northwestern and Lehighton boys and girls track and field teams were all victorious on Tuesday.
Palmerton-Jim Thorpe
Palmerton posted a Colonial League sweep over Jim Thorpe.
The Lady Bombers cruised to a 105-45 win, while the Palmerton boys edged the Olympians 76-73.
Connor Hibell and Jake Rutkowitz each recorded a trio of first-place finishes to pace the Bombers. Hibell swept the distance events, winning the 800, 1600 and 3200. Rutkowitz captured the 110 hurdles, and added wins in the long and triple jumps.
Jim Thorpe’s Stacy Bos matched Hibell’s distance sweep with victories in the 800, 1600 and 3200 for the Lady Olympians.
Joshua Louk added a pair of wins for the Olympians in the 100 and 200.
Palmerton’s Erin Gombert (100, 200), Ruby Walters (100 hurdles, 300 hurdles) and Nataly Walters (javelin, long jump) each recorded multiple individual wins to lead the Lady Bombers.
Ryan Burkett (187-4, discus), Nataly Walters (19-9, long lump) and the 400 relay team of Claire Thomas, Nataly Walters, Sarah Sabo and Erin Gombert (49.32) also set JT stadium records for the Bombers in the meet. Burkett also established a school record with his throw.

Salisbury-Lehighton
Lehighton swept Salisbury in a Colonial League meet.
The Indian girls earned a 113-37 victory, while the boys posted a 105-45 win.
Lorah Thomas (shot put, discus), Brielle Frable (800, 1600), and Alexandra Feller (high jump, triple jump) each won two individual events to lead the Lehighton girls. Lilyanna Shapiro added wins in the 200 and 400, and also helped the 4x100 relay team to a victory.
Joseph Roth (100, 400, javelin) and Equan Warner (110 hurdles, 300 hurdles) each captured a pair of individual events for the Indian boys, who also swept all three relays. Bodie Hawk added wins in the shot put and discus.

No. Lehigh-Catasauqua
Northern Lehigh split a Colonial League track and field meet with Catasauqua, as the girls secured an 85-54 win while the boys dropped a 90-59 decision.
Anna Trelease delivered a standout performance for the Bulldogs in the girls competition, sweeping the throws with wins in the shot put (32-3), discus (95-8) and javelin (102-3). Dekota Barthold added a victory in the 100 hurdles (17.8), and placed second in both the shot put and discus.
Katelynn Barthold also starred for Northern Lehigh, taking first in the 800 (2:20.0) and long jump (15-7), while running on the winning 1600 relay team alongside Emma Heil, Natalie Moffitt and Mikayla Gordon (5:18.0). Gordon added a win in the 400 (1:05.3), while Heil and Moffitt placed first and second, respectively, in the 1600.
The Bulldogs also picked up wins from Morgan Smith in the high jump (4-8) and Malia Hyman in the pole vault (6-9).
In the boys meet, Northern Lehigh’s Cayden Anglin captured the 300 hurdles (41.5) and helped the Bulldogs to a victory in the 1600 relay. William Slattery claimed the top spot in both the shot put (37-6) and javelin (125-9), while Landen Klimek led a sweep in the discus with a winning throw of 143-3.
Dregan Millroy won the high jump (5-7), and Ryan Zambo claimed the triple jump (37-4) and added a runner-up finish in the long jump.

Saucon Vy.-Northwestern
Northwestern Lehigh turned in a dominant performance against Saucon Valley, sweeping Tuesday’s Colonial League meet.
The Tiger girls rolled to a 110-40 win, while the boys posted a 96-54 victory.
Sophia Schaffer and Carsyn Van Norman helped set the tone for the girls, each picking up a pair of individual wins. Schaffer took first in the 100 and 400, while Van Norman won the 100 and 200. Paige Bissell (800), Devon Heinly (1600), and Rosalia Nestor (3200) added distance wins, while Taylor Langley (long jump) and Adisan Kistler (shot put) contributed in the field.
On the boys side, Shane Leh swept the hurdle events, winning both the 110 and 300 hurdles. Benjamin Bachman claimed the 400, and Brady Furman earned a win in the 800. Xander Giandomenico led a sweep in the 3200, while Gavin Nelson (high jump) and Ethan Kaschak (pole vault) also collected individual victories.

Panther Vy.-Sch. Haven
Schuylkill Haven swept a Schuylkill League meet against Panther Valley.
The Haven girls recorded a 107-19 victory, while the boys earned a 77-54 win.
Edison Mitchell led the Panther Valley boys with a pair of individual wins, capturing the 200 (24.53) and 400 (57.17). Abraham Cabrera also had a strong day with wins in the 800 (2:30.17), 1600 (5:35.52) and 3200 (13:01.00). Frank Shubeck secured a victory in the triple jump (37-01), and Nuredin Gjoca added a win in the 300 hurdles (49.80).
Morgan Orsulak paced the Panther Valley girls with a win in the long jump (13-09.5), and a second-place finish in the triple jump. Hannah Shreffler was runner-up in the 200, while Adriana Cabrera and Kayla Alburger placed in the 800 and 3200, respectively. Emily Lapp added a third-place finish in the discus.
