Palmerton Borough Council took the following action on Thursday:

• Tabled a request from the Palmerton Area Chamber of Commerce for the installation of a pole in the borough park.

• Appointed Julien Beltrame as a firefighter, and James and Elizabeth Kimble as fire police, for the Palmerton Fire Department.

• Approved updated body-worn camera and mobile video/audio recorder and license plate reader policies for the police department.

• Ratified the retirement date of Tom Smith, waste water operator, to being effective Feb. 13.

• Approved a request from the Lehigh Township Fire Company for fire police assistance for its Sportman’s Night.
