Pl. Vy. adopts admin pay plan

The Pleasant Valley School Board adopted the new Administrative and Administrative Support Staff Compensation Plan on Monday night. The four-year plan is effective for the 2025-26 school year through the 2028-29 school year.

The plan spells out how much each position will pay for the people currently holding those jobs, as well as the minimum and maximum amounts the school district will pay a new hire in the positions.

The minimum to maximum range in compensation for employees for administrative positions:

• Director of Special Education — $111,985 to $143,090

• Director of Athletics — $93,185 to $119,070

• Director of Operations — $96,485 to $123,285

• Director of Instructional Technology and Innovation — $104,835 to $133,960

• Principal — High School — $116,565 to $148,945

• Principal — Middle, Intermediate and Elementary School — $102,000 to $137,500

• Assistant Principal High School 1 — $84,080 to $110,325

• Assistant Principal Middle, Intermediate and Elementary School — $80,850 to $100,495

• Assistant Business Manager — $88,315 to 112,845

• Supervisor of Curriculum & Instruction — $88,375 to $116,565

• Special Education Supervisor — $81,555 to $104,210

• Police Chief — $86,910 to $111,050

• Assistant Police Chief — $65,205 to $83,320

Administrative support services:

• Technology Coordinator — $83,455 to $106,640

• Network Administrator — $83,455 to $106,640

• Supervisor of Transportation — $76,175 to $97,335

• Accountant — $58,695 to $75,000

• Coordinator of Child Accounting — PIMS Administrator — $78,175 to $99,980

• ACCESS Coordinator — Human Resource Assistant — $69,120 to $88,320

Executive assistants and payroll specialist:

• Executive Assistant to the Superintendent — $59,564 to $74,701

• Executive Assistant to the Director of Human Resources — $59,564 to $74,701

• Executive Assistant to the Business Manager — $59,564 to $74,701

• Payroll Specialist — $59,564 to $74,701.

The board did not discuss the plan at the meeting.

The adopted document says the board “recognizes the importance of maintaining an effective team to strengthen administrative and educational programs of the district.

The district said it wants to be competitive with salaries: “The district’s main objective with this plan is to attract, retain, and motivate high quality personnel for lengthy service to the Pleasant Valley School District. Considerations when adopting this plan include the desire to compete with surrounding school districts.”

The compensation plan also spells out the benefits for health care and other insurance coverage, vacation and holidays, sick leave and other types of leave, educational reimbursement and doctoral stipend, as well as a variety of other benefits including longevity award, home and car vandalism, and severance or termination.

At the high school, the school district currently employs one principal and three assistant principals.

The middle school has one principal, two assistant principals and one dean of students, which isn’t listed in the compensation table but is listed as administration on the website.

The intermediate school has one principal, one assistant principal and one dean of students. And the elementary school has one principal and one assistant principal.

The school district employs two curriculum supervisors, two special education supervisors, and one person in each of the other positions on the compensation table.
