State police at Fern Ridge
State police at Fern Ridge investigating the following cases:
• Police are investigating a theft by deception incident targeting a 29-year-old man from Albrightsville.
It was reported at 7:04 p.m. Oct. 1 on Vista Drive, Penn Forest Township.
Police said two online transactions, each for $60.90, were initiated through Walmart.com but were ultimately canceled before the victim sustained any financial loss.
• Jacob Batista, 19, of Northampton, was cited by police for harassment/threatening physical contact after police were called to the 2700 block of Rising Hill Drive, Chestnuthill Township, at 8:44 p.m. Oct. 6.
A 17-year-old girl from Saylorsburg reported that Batista sent harassing text messages to her.
• Gunner Strausser, 28, of Stroudsburg, was charged by police with strangulation after an incident in April at 156 Strausser Lane, Jackson Township.
A 34-year-old Summit Hill woman reported bodily injury from the domestic-related incident.
• Adam Conrad, 45, of Saylorsburg, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after police made a traffic stop at 3:25 a.m. Oct. 1.
He was stopped in a 2015 Nissan Altima for a Motor Vehicle Code violation in the 1400 block of Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township.
• Two people were cited for harassment by physical contact after an incident at 5:26 p.m. Oct. 4 at 1530 Eagles View Court, Jackson Township.
Police said a Richard Cancel and Marc Saady were engaged in a physical confrontation in which Saady received scratches to his back and was bleeding from the mouth, while Cancel had a broken nail and was pushed to the ground.
• Christopher A. Keiper, 30, of Stroudsburg, was cited for harassment by physical contact after police were called to an altercation at 11:35 p.m. Oct. 20 at 1338 Mountain Spring Drive, Jackson Township.
Police said a 28-year-old Stroudsburg woman told police Keiper struck her in the face.
• Police received a ChildLine report at 2:03 p.m. Oct. 22 regarding suspected child abuse within a home.
They said the report indicated a 12-year-old girl from Jim Thorpe was the victim of the incident on Pinoak Drive, Penn Forest Township.
