Fire companies from Schuylkill and Carbon counties were dispatched to a working commercial structure fire Monday evening in West Penn township.

Just before 6 p.m. passing motorists along Route 309 reported heavy smoke pouring from Joe’s Pizza in the South Tamaqua Mall.

The business was closed at the time. Firefighters gained entrance and extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported in the incident. West Penn police are investigating the incident.
