The deadline to order soups to benefit food pantries in Tamaqua is at midnight Sunday.
The sale, which is part of the Tamaqua Hunger Campaign, features soups made by local churches, civic organizes and restaurants. The goal is to sell at least 200 quarts of soup. So far, 171 quarts have been sold.
Soup can be purchased by visiting tamaquahunger.tacp.info.
Distribution will be held from 9-11 a.m. Oct. 26 from Trinity UCC’s Founder’s Hall (lower level) at the corner of Lafayette and Washington streets in Tamaqua.
Soup purchasers also get raffle tickets good for gift certificates to several Tamaqua restaurants participating in some way in the monthlong Hunger Campaign.
Proceeds from the sale benefit food pantries at American Primitive Methodist Church, Trinity United Church of Christ and Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Stokes Ministries food program.
