Billyann Perez, 42, of Tamaqua, was charged with disorderly conduct and public drunkenness by Tamaqua police after she was knocking on doors and yelling on the 300-block of West Rowe Street at 4:38 a.m. Thursday.
Police were dispatched to the area and saw Perez, who they knew from previous dealings. They said she had slurred speech, smelled of alcohol, and had trouble walking.
She was placed in the police cruiser for transport back to her residence to be taken to responsible adults she lives with.
When police arrived, they saw the three adults on the sidewalk and told them that if they did not take custody of Perez, she would not be released. The three adults yelled at police and continued walking.
Perez was taken to the police station and lodged in a cell until she became sober enough to be released.
