Nesquehoning police

Nesquehoning police filed the following charges:

• A Nesquehoning man faces assault and other charges following a disturbance on East Garibaldi Street Sunday morning.

Michael Heffelfinger, 50, was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct, harassment and public drunkenness following the incident in which a woman was injured, court papers said.

He was released on $10,000 unsecured bail following his arraignment before District Judge Beth Dodson Sunday afternoon.

• A Nesquehoning man faces charges for violating a protection from abuse order early Monday morning.

Michael McFadden Jr., 36, was charged with criminal trespass and contempt for violation of order of agreement.

He was jailed in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in Nesquehoning in lieu of $15,000 bail.

McFadden was found lying in the basement of the West Coal Street home, from where he was evicted, and he had also continued to call after the emergency PFA was granted Sunday night, court papers said.
