Rummage sale

The Tamaqua First United Methodist Church, 124 W. Broad St., will hold an indoor rummage and food sale in conjunction with the Tamaqua Heritage Festival from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 13.

Calvary Lewistown Valley

Keith Seigfried of Mended Heart will bring the morning message of “Sharing Life with Jesus” to the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Calvary Evangelical Church, Lewistown Valley. Sunday school for all ages is at 9:15 a.m. Special music will be presented by Keith and Jodi Seigfried of Mended Heart. There will be no evening service.

People’s Choice Hymn Sing

All are invited to the Congregation People’s Choice Hymn Sing led by Beverly Heisler at 4 p.m. Sunday at Bethesda E.C. Church, 155 Reedsville Road, Schuylkill Haven. Ice cream will be served.

The small group prayer will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday for all ages.

The annual Sunday school Rally Day will be held beginning at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 13 with a skit, play, puppets and experiments.

At 6:30 p.m. Oct. 13, the Roth Family of Lebanon will present a musical program. All are welcome to both rally day programs. For more information, call 570-952-1678.

Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Sept. 19, with 25 members present.

The invocation was read by a member, and one member was added to the sick list.

The seniors will collect for one more week for the Tamaqua Hunger Walk.

Refreshments were served and bingo and cards were played.

The seniors meet at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited.

Luncheon

A Pumpkin Patch luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 15 at Grace Evangelical Free Church, 101 Graeff St., Cressona.

Guest speaker Shirley Ryder of Fort Royal, Virginia, will share “Enjoying Peace Despite the Difficulties of Life.” John Starr will share tips on healthy eating, and special music will be provided by Teresa Heller of Pine Grove.

There is a fee. The event is sponsored by the Pottsville Christian Women’s Club.

St. Peter’s — West Penn

The Sunday worship service at St. Peter’s in West Penn is at 9 a.m. followed by adult Sunday school at 10:15 a.m. Girl Scouts will meet at 6 p.m. Sunday, and apple dumpling orders are due.

On Thursday, the Cherub Choir meets at 6 p.m. in the social hall. The bell choir meets at 6 p.m., and the senior choir meets at 7 p.m.

The Oct. 6 worship service will have World Wide Communion and a baptism.

Zion — Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Church, Lewistown Valley.

Sunday school for children and adults is at 9:30 a.m.

Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens

The Rush Ryan Delano Senior Citizens met on Sept. 24 with 38 members present. President Robert Neifert opened the meeting with the invocation recited by the secretary.

Two members were added to the sick list. Neifert and the secretary celebrated their birthdays on Sept. 24. One couple celebrated their 19-year anniversary.

Three new members were welcomed. The group chanced off Halloween items, which were won by a member.

Refreshments were served, and bingo was played. A member also donated cups and bowls.

The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 15. The group meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at Christ Church in Barnesville.

Designer Purse Basket Bingo

Zions Stone Church will hold a designer purse basket bingo on Oct. 13. Doors open at noon, and bingo begins at 1 p.m.

Prizes includes purses from Dooney Bourke, Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Coach, as well as money and gift cards.

There will also be food for purchase.

Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat

A Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat will take place at West Penn Park from noon to 5 p.m. on Oct. 19. The park is located at 698 Zions Stone Church Road, New Ringgold.

The event is open to everyone. Trunk or treating takes place from 1 to 3 p.m. There will also be pumpkin carving, games, food and more.

Pork and Sauerkraut Dinner

Zions Stone Church will hold a pork and sauerkraut dinner from 4-7 p.m.

It is an all-you-can-eat event. Eat in or takeout is available.

A raffle to benefit the late trooper Peter Conforti’s family will also be held.
