Julian Huegel, 27, of Tamaqua, was charged with simple assault and harassment after Tamaqua police said he threw a weed whacker at another man at 9:20 a.m. Sept. 23.

According to police, the victim came to the police station to report the incident. He said he was in the kitchen of Huegel’s home and exchanged words with Huegel. At that point, Huegel picked up the weed whacker and hit him in the face with it. He then struck the man with his hands and fist, police said.

After giving the statement to police, the man was taken for medical attention.
