Tamaqua police reported on incidents:

• Police cited Bruce Smith Jr., 39, of Summit Hill, for harassment following a July 10 incident in Tamaqua.

According to police, Smith’s ex-girlfriend reported that he came to her home at 5 p.m. to take their child for a visit. Smith drove for a block with the child unsecured in a car seat, then returned to drive by the woman. When he did, police said he swerved and almost hit her, causing her to jump out of the way. As he drove by, police said he yelled, “You’re not gonna have bad people around my child.”

The ex-girlfriend reported the incident on Sept. 16, according to information from police.

• Billyann Perez, 42, Tamaqua, was cited for causing a disturbance by borough police at 3:28 a.m. Sept. 14.

According to police, officers were sent to a disturbance on the 200 block of West Rowe Street. Police said two men and two women were outside and arguing.

When police arrived, one of the women — identified as Perez — approached their vehicle and put her head against the driver’s side window. Police told her to get away from the vehicle and noted that she was under the influence. Police said she was unable to stand still and did not make any sense.

After obtaining Perez’s information, the Schuylkill County Communications Center advised that she was wanted by the Jim Thorpe Police Department.

She was transported to Lansford, where she was picked up by Jim Thorpe officers.

• A Tamaqua teenager who was struck by a vehicle Sept. 13 had been warned before by police about walking in the street.

According to Tamaqua police, officers were dispatched to a report of pedestrian struck at the intersection of Hunter and West Spruce Street.

The father of the pedestrian, a 16-year-old from North Greenwood Street, was on the scene and provided information.

Police said the teen was identified as one of the students from the Tamaqua Area High School who has been standing and walking in the roadway over the past few days. Police said multiple complaints were received from parents.

According to officers, the teen and his father were informed on Sept. 8 about the issue, with concern that an accident like this could happen.

Police obtained information from the driver from Bowmanstown. She told police that the teens were standing in the roadway while she had a green light. As she attempted to pass them, the teen stepped out too far and her vehicle either bumped or ran over the teen’s right ankle or leg.

Police said the father was asked to provide any medical records for treatment and injuries received by the teen, who was transported by Tamaqua Ambulance to St. Luke’s Miners Hospital.

Due to prior warnings to stop walking and standing in the street, the incident is under investigation with charges to be filed against the teen.
