Blythe officer injured in pursuit

A Blythe Township police officer was seriously injured Thursday night in a crash during a high speed pursuit. The incident began around 9 p.m. when the officer attempted to pull the bike over near the village of Brockton. The biker fled south on Route 209 into the village of New Philadelphia where he fled north of Pine Street. The Blythe officer and a second vehicle were in pursuit when the Blythe Township officer lost control on a gravel road entering the west berm where he hit a large boulder.
