State police are investigating the death of a 15-week-old infant early Tuesday morning in Franklin Township.

A news release issued Tuesday afternoon by Pennsylvania State Police, Troop N, Criminal Investigation Unit, said troopers were requested to investigate the death of the infant.

The Carbon County District Attorney’s Office is assisting with the investigation, the release states.

The investigation is active, and updates will be provided as to not jeopardize the integrity of this investigation, the release states.
