An impressive and befitting program honoring local military veterans was held before the Pleasant Valley varsity football game, Friday night.
Honored were coaches who had served in the military and parents of football players and cheerleaders.
They were escorted onto the field with family members through a parallel line of players and cheerleaders all holding large American flags. In the middle of the field, they were introduced, and the crowd was informed of their military participation.
For the game, the football players wore camouflage jerseys with “Pennsylvania” across the back.
There were about 20 military members honored.
A special color guard comprised of American Legion members stood in the middle of the field for the play of the national anthem.
