Carla Marie Jenkins, daughter of Merlyn and Mary Lou Jenkins of Pottsville, will crowned Miss Pocono during a pageant held Saturday night at Genetti’s in Hazleton.

The 19-year-old queen succeeds Tracy Ann Unangst of Easton as the reigning queen.

Carla attended Pottsville Area High School and the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts as a music-dance major, and it continuing her music major at Millersville University, with an emphasis on vocal instructions.

The first runner-up in the competition was Sherri Salvaterra, 20, of Coaldale, while the second runner-up was Lauri Ann Kalinak. 21, of Coaldale, daughter of Michael and Michele (Kondertavage) Kalinak of Whitehall, formerly of Coaldale.
