Police seize drugs, gun in Lansford bust

A Lansford man is in Carbon County prison following a seven-month long investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics sold around Carbon County.

The Nesquehoning Police as members of the Carbon County Drug Task Force in conjunction with the state Office of Attorney General, executed a search warrant in the 200 block of E. Abbott Street, Lansford.

As a result, 44-year-old Jason Mika was taken into custody.

Police seized 480.3 grams (1.08 pounds) of methamphetamine, 69.6 grams (2.46 ounces) of psilocybin mushrooms, 14.5 grams (0.51 ounces) of marijuana, 36 tables of clonazepam, 77 Suboxone strips and a Smith and Wesson M28-2 .357 magnum revolver.

Mika was charged with one felony count of persons not to possess a firearm and five felony counts of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Mika was arraigned by District Magistrate William Kissner Friday morning, with bail set at $200,000 straight cash.

Nesquehoning Police were assisted by the PA Office of Attorney General, Lansford Police Department, Lehighton Police Department, Franklin Township Police Department, Carbon County Sheriff’s Office, Carbon County District Attorney’s Office, Carbon County Animal Shelter and Lehighton Ambulance.
