Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on Aug. 29, with 24 members present.
The president opened the meeting with the invocation, “True Blessings Road.”
One member was added to the sick list, and one member was welcomed back.
The seniors will donate canned goods to the Tamaqua Area Hunger Campaign.
Bingo and cards were played. The group meets at 1 p.m. every Thursday at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is welcome.
Calvary Lewistown
Sunday is the last for the year for Calvary Evangelical Church to worship at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle.
During the 10:30 a.m. service, Pastor Kim will celebrate Grandparents’ Day and present a message of God’s faithfulness to all generations. Special music will be provided. Sunday school is at 9:15 a.m.
The evening service will be at 6:30 p.m. and feature praise and Bible sharing.
The Puffers of Florida will present a concert of humor, music and sharing of faith at 6:30 p.m. at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle, 614 Valley Road. All are invited.
Thrift Sale
Blessings, Zion Lutheran’s thrift ministry, is hosting an end-of-summer/back-to-school sale from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday. The sale features gently used summer and fall clothing and school uniforms along with general household items, books, toys and seasonal items.
A limited takeout kitchen menu will be available. Major credit cards and cash are accepted. Zion Lutheran is at the corner of Mauch Chunk and Greenwood streets in Tamaqua.
