The Pennsylvania State Police, Lehighton barracks, will conduct DUI checkpoints on roads in Carbon and Monroe counties during the period of Friday through Sunday.
In a news release, police said they will be actively searching for impaired drivers in an initiative aimed at reducing instances when drivers can put themselves and others at risk.
Police said the objective is to deter drivers who are driving from drinking, using drugs or abusing prescription medications from getting behind the wheel of a vehicle.
