TAMAQUA SCHOOL BOARD

Tamaqua Area School District approved the following at its recent meeting:

• An affiliation agreement with Kutztown University for student teachers, practicum of student teaching experience.

• The tax report and tax exemptions, tax refunds and the payment of bills totaling $492,844, and interim bills of $1,021,849.

• The 2024-25 breakfast and lunch prices again, with a revised cost of $2.85 for an adult breakfast. All students quality for free breakfast and lunch, and student prices set last month were for an additional breakfast or lunch.

• A one-year agreement with Sovereign Commercial Services for cleaning services at West Penn Elementary, at a monthly cost of $5,546.66. The district has had trouble finding people for the task, Superintendent Ray Kinder said.

• A memorandum of understanding with the Tamaqua Area Education Support Personnel regarding the second shift custodian position at West Penn Elementary and allowing the work to be outsourced.
