Weissport Borough Council will begin the process of changing Railroad Street to no parking on both sides.

Council Solicitor Greg Mousseau will draw up the updated ordinance that will be voted on by council.

Railroad Street is located off Bridge Street, behind The Hofford Mill. The road would remain a two-way street.

“We had a resident in town who almost got hit,” Council President Tom Ketchledge told council. “There’s not enough room for two cars to pass.”

“It used to be no parking years ago, and then it was changed to allow parking at one point,” Ketchledge observed.

Two area businesses have large trucks that need to use the road, and it makes it difficult for them to navigate through the parked cars.
