Bently D. Luckenbill, 22, of Pine Grove, died in a one-vehicle crash at 6:11 a.m. Aug. 8 on Bethel Road, Pine Grove Township.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said he was pronounced dead by Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner Al Barnes.

The crash happened when Luckenbill, driving a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta, was southbound. The car entered the west shoulder and struck a tree, coming to rest in a heavily-brushed area west of the southbound lane.

Police said Luckenbill was not wearing a seat belt and was discovered by passers-by soon after the crash.

Bethel Road was closed for about 2½ hours after the crash, police said.
