The Jim Thorpe Borough Council meeting Thursday night in the conference room of the Phoenix Hose Company on Broadway, accepted the pending resignation of the superintendent of the borough’s water department.
Thomas A. Fedorcha has announced his plans to retire as superintendent effective Jan. 1, 1989.
An employee of the borough for the past 35 years, he will become the second employee of the water department to relinquish their duties as Gary L. Solt, Fedorcha’s assistant, resigned from the post effective today.
The borough council, headed by President David Rimsky, accepted Fedorcha’s correspondence without comment.
