Fundraiser for family of Walker Twp. state trooper who died
An online fundraiser has been started for the family of a Pennsylvania state trooper from Walker Township who died last week.
Tpr. Peter K. Conforti, 30, of Walker Township, died Wednesday at St. Luke’s Miner’s campus.
He left behind a wife, Dr. Alexandra (Wagner) Conforti, and a 1-year-old son, Abrahm.
An account has been set up on the Fund the First website. Donations will help toward funeral costs, cost of living, and current/future financial burdens.
A 2012 graduate of Tamaqua Area high school, Conforti was a four-year varsity football starter, homecoming king and a class officer.
He graduated from Misericordia University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He started his career as a Pennsylvania State Trooper when he graduated in October of 2016 as a member of the 146th cadet class.
Conforti was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and collector of antler sheds. He was happiest when he could be in the woods, spending time checking on his trail cameras and sharing his finds with his family members. When he wasn’t in the woods, he was by his family’s side.
According to his obituary, his perfect day off included spending time with his beloved wife and their son Abram, going on a walk with his family, going out for dinner and ending the day with ice cream and a campfire.
He will be best remembered for his family values, investing in others, and building meaningful friendships. Peter truly enjoyed the companionship of, not only of his family, but of his two golden retrievers, Gracie and Lucy.
Conforti was an active member of The Bridge Church and continued the family tradition of being a member of the Little Schuylkill Lions Club.
Donations are also being accepted that will be distributed between Abram’s future education, a scholarship for Tamaqua Area High School, and in support of the Blue Raiders Football team.
Please make checks out to Alexandra Conforti with a memo where funds should be distributed. The address is 1108 Shady Lane, Tamaqua, PA 18252.
