Jennifer DiPietro, 41, was jailed on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct filed by Tamaqua police.
According to police, officers were called to the 200 block of Orwigsburg Street at 12:13 p.m. July 28 for a report of a woman who was outside yelling. Police spotted DiPietro at the rear of the residence, and said she was yelling “nonsense” for about 5 minutes. Police told DiPietro, who is homeless, that she would be arrested and taken into custody for persistent disorderly conduct.
DiPietro told police that she understood, but at 1:33 p.m., officers were called to the same location for a call of a woman yelling. Officers went to the address and found DiPietro outside yelling. She was told that she would be placed under arrest since she had been warned earlier.
At that point, police said they attempted to place handcuffs on DiPietro but she resisted and pulled away. Police said they had to use force to take her into custody.
As officers were walking DiPietro to the patrol car, she continued yelling nonsense.
She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge James Reiley, Pottsville, and committed to prison after failing to post $5,000 percentage bail.
