Ss Peter and Paul schedule
Ss. Peter and Paul Church, located at 260 N. Third St., Lehighton, announces the following schedule:
•The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is offered on the Lord’s Day at Saints Peter and Paul Parish by Father Christopher M. Zelonis, assisted by Deacon Joseph C. Wilhelm Jr., throughout the year on at 4 p.m. Saturdays and at 7:45 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sundays. Daily Masses are at 8 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We welcome you, or welcome you back, to worship the Lord at our parish.
• The Eucharist is exposed for personal prayer from noon to 9 p.m. every Thursday. Adorers are needed between 5 and 7 p.m.
• The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) is available from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursdays, from 7:15 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Fridays, and about 30 minutes before Masses on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Help available
• Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Allentown is accepting appointments and walk-ins at the parish convent building every from 9 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Services include individual, marriage and family counseling; pregnancy and parenting support (counseling, material assistance such as diapers, wipes, baby items); and supportive services (case management, material assistance, emergency rental assistance, referrals). • Our parish’s Saint Vincent de Paul Society hosts “Vincent’s Closet” by appointment in our former convent building on 242 N. Third St. The society offers clothing and toiletries for those in need and seeks donations of the same. Call the rectory for more information.
Events
• The annual Clothing Drive begins now and continues through Aug. 26. Drop off items in the classroom next to the boys lavatory in the school building. The room is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, noon to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Acceptable items include usable men’s, ladies’, and children’s wear, pairs of shoes (bagged separate from clothes), purses, hats, scarves, towels, blankets, bedsheets, pillows, quilts, comforters, curtains, small toys 2 feet long and under, stuffed animals, bikes and scooters, strollers. No car seats. Proceeds benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
• The Knights of Columbus Damien Council #598 meets at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month in our parish hall, followed by the Msgr. Agnello Angelini Assembly of the Fourth Degree Knights at 7:30 p.m. The next meeting is on Aug. 6.
• “Cool Kingdom Party,” our Vacation Bible School program, happens from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 12 through 14. It is open to children in Pre-K and up. For further information or to register, contact Deanna at 570-578-2471 or dea249@gmail.com.
• “An Evening with Elvis” with Jeff Krick singing the greatest hits of Elvis Presley, will take place on Sept. 7, in the parish hall, 307 Coal St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. and show at 7 p.m.
