Lansford Borough will cap a broken lateral sewer line that caused a sinkhole to open adjacent to the double yellow line on Route 209 near Kennedy Park. Borough council discussed seeking bids on capping the line, but decided the borough could do the work. The borough will notify the homeowner, who had told officials that he won’t fix the line, that it intends to cap the line and give him another opportunity to fix the lateral before proceeding with the work.
