Franklin Township Zoning Board granted approval for the intermunicipal transfer for a liquor license from the Borough of Beaver Meadows to 1470 Interchange Road.

The license is for Square One, Lehighton, the site of the former Little Tiger on Route 209 near the Turnpike. Owner Prince Patel was on hand with his attorney, Jessica Pleskach, from Plains, Pa.

The business is mostly for people to purchase alcoholic beverages such as six-packs.

“We also have some ready-made sandwiches, hot dogs, things like that,” Patel explained. The store will have some seating as well, and Subway has a franchise on location.
