AAA: Gas prices dip in Pa.

The average price for a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania is 1.2 cents lower this week at $3.676 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.

The national average for a gallon of gas is $3.515 which is 0.4 cent less than a week ago.

The slight decrease came as Hurricane Beryl hit the coast of Texas, a record number of Americans traveled by car over the July Fourth holiday, and oil costs continue to hover above $80 per barrel.

Today’s national average is 6.8 cents higher than a month ago but 4.9 cents less than a year ago.

According to new data from the Energy Information Administration, gas demand dipped from 9.42 million barrels per day to 9.39 last week. Meanwhile, total domestic gasoline stocks fell from 231.7 to 229.7 million barrels, while gasoline production increased last week, averaging 10.3 million barrels daily.
