Registration is open for Carbon County Environmental Education Center’s Annual Conservation Camp, planned for Monday through Friday, Aug. 5 through 9 at Hickory Run State Park.
The weeklong, overnight camp is now in its 36th year. It is open to all children ages 9 through 12, who spend the week enjoying nature-related walks, talks, games, crafts and other activities, including a rafting trip along the summer float section of the Lehigh.
Children are dropped off at Camp Shehaqua in Hickory Run by 9 a.m. Monday, and picked up at noon on Friday.
Local sponsors are sought to keep the cost of camp low. There is a discount for siblings from the same household.
Camp is strictly limited to the first 25 registered participants.
Anyone interested in having their child attend should call CCEEC at 570-645-8597, or email cceec@ptd.net to begin the registration process.
