Several Carbon County tax collectors attended the annual District IX workshop on June 12 at Sand Springs Country Club to maintain their status as qualified and/or certified tax collectors.

District IX consists of tax collectors from Carbon, Columbia, Luzerne and Schuylkill counties.

Carbon County was represented by seven attendees: Kim Ginopolas (Kidder Township, Jim Thorpe and Weatherly school districts); Valerie Kane (Packer Township), Deborah Kohler and deputy Victoria Maguschak (Weatherly Borough) also from Weatherly school district. Lehighton school district attendees were Kathy Henderson (East Penn Township), Pauline Homm (Mahoning Township) and Mary Strohl (Lehighton Borough).
